Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu‘s comment that Bollywood cannot afford him has become a topic of debate in the film industry. Even after Sarkaru Vaari Paata star offered a clarification, Ram Gopal Varma and Bollywood film maker Mukesh Bhatt have responded to it.
Recently during the trailer launch event of Major, Mahesh Babu said, “I did get a lot of offers in Hindi, but I don’t think they can afford me. I don’t want to waste my time working in an industry which can’t afford me.” Satya helmer Ram Gopal Varma expressed his confusion over Mahesh’s recent comment, and said, “It is his choice as an actor bit honestly I didn’t understand what he meant by Bollywood can’t afford him. I am still unable to figure out what Mahesh meant by that because the point is, if you see the recent South Indian films, they were dubbed and released and they made whatever money they did.”
RGV added that Bollywood is not a company but a label which is given by the media. He further said, “ I don’t understand that. Bollywood is not a company, so his context is not understood.”
On the otherside, Mahesh Babu, has clarified by saying that he is comfortable doing the film where he has been working.
