Manoj Bajpayee made his feature film debut with a one-minute role in Drohkaal in 1994, and a minor role of a dacoit in Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen in 1994. Manoj Bajpayee is one of the leading actors in the film industry today. He has emerged as a trusted choice for directors. Manoj Bajpayee got his big break with Ram Gopal Varma aka RGV’ magnum opus , Satya. Recently during the media interaction, Manoj Bajpayee spoke about the filmmaker and said that he owes his career to him. Apart from Satya, Manoj and RGV have worked together in films such as Kaun and Shool.
Manoj Bajpayee revealed that RGV can often call him at times to give him ‘gaalis.’ Talking about the remake of Sapne Mein Milti Hai song, which also had a cameo of Manoj Bajpayee, the actor said that RGV called him to scold him for it.
Born in Belwa, a small village near the city Bettiah in West Champaran district Bihar, Major Bajpayee aspired to become an actor since childhood. He won the Special Jury National Award for the movie Pinjar which was released in 2003. This was followed by a series of brief, unnoticed roles in films that failed to propel the actor’ career forward.
On the work front, Manoj Bajpayee will be next seen in upcoming Hindi movies Despatch and Joram which will be released this year.
