Chiyaan Vikram is currently basking in the glory of all the praises he has been receiving for his performance in the recently released Ponniyin Selvan 1, which is helmed by Mani Ratnam. According to the latest report, Vikram will commence shooting for his next film with director Pa Ranjith from 14th October. The project is tentatively titled Chiyaan 61. The makers started the test shoot for the film tentatively titled Chiyaan61 on Wednesday.
Chiyaan 61 is billed as a period drama set in the 19th century against the backdrop of Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka. It is all about the story of real life miners who worked in KGF during the British era. The reports are coming that the makers are considering the name of Rashmika Mandanna for Chiyaan Vikram starerr Chiyaan 61. If everything goes as per plan Rashmika Mandanna will be seen sharing the screen space with Vikram in KGF space.
Chiyaan61 is bankrolled by KE Gnanavelraja under the Studio Green banner in association with Neelam Productions whereas it has music by GV Prakash. The film will mark the maiden collaboration of the director with Vikram.
Director Pa Ranjith had been working on the script for four years and left no stone unturned to research about the miners, community working at KGF etc.
