Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut slammed the netizens who trolled Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan for ‘spitting’ on the mortal remains of legendary singer and melody queen Lata Mangeshkar at her cremation ceremony at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Shah Rukh Khan, who was among the other Bollywood celebrities who attended the singer’s funeral, found himself mired with controversy after a section of people slammed him for a facial gesture which they misunderstood as ‘spitting’. Finally Urmila Matondkar and MP Sanjay Raut shut the trolls perfectly.
Shah Rukh Khan along with his manager Pooja Dadlani was present during the last rites of Lata Mangeshkar which were conducted with full state honors.
In a viral picture, Shah Rukh was seen reciting ‘dua’, whereas Pooja Dadlani was seen folding her hands to pay homage to the celebrated singer. After reciting his Dua – Prayer, Shah Rukh blew the air as per Islamic rituals of praying.
A section of people criticized the actor for allegedly ‘spitting’ on the mortal remains of the legendary singer, after reciting his dua. The trolls alleged that Shah Rukh Khan was not blowing air but spitting.
On the otherside, the actress Urmila Matondkar said, “As a society, we have deteriorated so much that we think praying is spitting. The politics has reached such low levels and it’s really sad”.
