Indian blockbuster Baahubali 2: The Conclusion starring Young Rebel star Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannah Bhatia, Abushka Shetty and Ramya Krishna, is set to be released in China in the coming months. The historic and war drama, directed by SS Rajamouli, is to be released by EStars Media, which previously handled ‘Baahubali: The Beginning,’ in China. Baahubali 2 has now cleared the censorship process, but does not yet have a settled release date.
Bollywood films like Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Secret Superstar have performed well at the Chinese box office boosting the total lifetime collection of the films. The latest one to join the squad of Bollywood blockbuster films in China is Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Baahubali 2 earned Rs 1600 Cr at the Worldwide box office and Aamir Khan’s Dangal stands at Rs. 2012 Cr including revenue from China’s release.
Baahubali: The Beginning that was released on 22nd June in China in record number of theaters, opened to decent openings in the first weekend but it didn’t draw any audience further and ended up as a loser for the distributor. The first installment of Baahubali had earned $123 million total at the Chinese box office. In the domestic market, Baahubali 2 has surpassed Aamir Film and created a record. Now the real test is going to be started for Baahubali 2. Let’s wait and see whether Baahubali 2 , The Pride of Telugu Film Industry, will come India’s No. 1 film.
