Biopics have a special place in movies genres and biopics related to the lives of sports persons can be the biggest crowd pulling factor. They have the emotional connect and inspiring factor. Bollywood has been in the first place to cash in with biopics by making inspiring films.
Bhaag Milka Bhaag, MS Dhoni, Mary Kom etc., have been block busters in Bollywood. With this trend catching up Tollywood has tried to do biopics on sports persons as well. But that doesn’t went as anticipated.
Sudheer Babu has been trying for biopic on Badminton Guru Pullela Gopichand for more than three years but it has been getting postponed from a long time. Still there is no clarity on when this project will go on floors. Biopics on Badminton top stars PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal too are announced but they haven’t moved an inch.
Now recently biopic on Karanam Malliswari got announced without any star cast. Analysts say that it will be challenging to find the perfect star cast for the role of Karanam Malliswari. Also producers have to think whether this project is viable or not. One has to think if the life of Malliswari has the required emotions to hit hard the audience.
