Gunasekhar made the mammoth budget film Rudhrama Devi few years ago with Anushka Shetty in the lead. After Anushka Shetty, another role which brought so much of fame is Gona Ganna Reddy role which was played by Stylish Star Allu Arjun. Though he played a small role, the impact he created was note worthy. At the time of production of the film, there were reports that either Mahesh or NTR will do the role of Gona Ganna Reddy.
Even Guna Sekhar in the latest interview confirmed the news but later it fell in the hands of Allu Arjun. Guna Sekhar talking about the movie and Allu Arjun’s role said that “After Okkadu, I was offered highest remuneration in South India. However I pitched the idea of Rudhrama Devi.
Producers though liked the story, were apprehend about female oriented movie. They asked to change the script related to male lead. For this I refused. Later myself has produced this movie.
NTR and Mahesh both liked Gona Ganna Reddy’s role and were more than happy to play it. However things were not conducive. Later Allu Arjun came into the picture. I will direct movie with NTR in near future”, he concluded.
