Renu Desai, the ex-wife of Jana Sena Chief and actor Power Star Pawan Kalyan is back on social media site – Instagram! Johnny, the sport based drama written, directed and choreographed by Pawan Kalyan and the film marked Pawan Kalyan as a director. It also introduced Renu Desai as a production designer. Renu Desai revealed in her instagram post that initially she was not ready to accept the project as an actress. She said no for acting to Kalyan Garu because she was not interested in acting. But later when Pawan Kalyan convinced her, she agreed. According to her, she used to work 16-17 hours per day for 7 months during the making of Pawan Kalyan’s Johnny.
Renu Desai also shared a throwback pic on Instagram when she is seen looking the camera viewfinder, whereas Pawan Kalyan is seen discussing a shot with cinematographer Shyam.
Renu Desai wrote on her Instagram, “I was initially only the production designer for Johnny and just 2 weeks before shoot, I was casted as the heroine.
My first reaction was a strict No for acting to Kalyan garu because i was not interested in acting, as my heart lay in the behind the camera technical stuff. And also, it would have been a crazy task to be the heroine and the production designer at the age of 21 only.
But Kalyan garu convinced me eventually and I ended up working almost 16-17 hours everyday for more than 7 months.
This one experience made me super strong and resilient emotionally.
I used to come to the set as a Production designer, check everything is in order and then go to the make up room to become the heroine.
