The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty, and Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager, Samuel Miranda on the charges of drug abuse on Friday. They have been charged under multiple sections of the anti-narcotics law and will be produced in a court on Saturday. Two other people, Bandra residents Basit Parihar, and Kaizan Ebrahim were also arrested on Friday on charges of peddling the drugs.
The deputy director of NCB, KPS Malhotra said, “We have informed the families of Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda and both have been arrested under several sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.”
NCB has arrested seven people so far in this case including Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda.
On Friday morning, a team from the Narcotics Control Bureau accompanied by police officials raided the homes of Showik Chakraborty and Miranda. The teams included the women officials and they were seen wearing masks and gloves.
Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty has been accused in the death of the Kedarnath and MS Dhoni fame Sushant Singh Rajput that is being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation, the Narcotics Control Bureau, and the Enforcement Directorate on money laundering charges. The NCB began the probing intro the drug angle in this case after inputs from the Enforcement Directorate.
