SS Rajamouli’ directorial venture RRR starring Young Tiger Jr NTR and Mega Power Star Ram Charan continues to impress critics and audiences alike in the West. And now Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer has also begun its campaign at the award shows. RRR has been nominated for five Critics Choice Awards. As the Critics Choice Awards announced their 2023 nominations yesterday, RRR landed nods for Best Picture, Best Director (SS Rajamouli), Best Visual Effects, Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Song (Naatu Naatu).
In the Best Picture category, RRR will compete with Avatar: The Way of Water, Babylon, Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Fabelmans, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, The Banshees of Inisherin, Elvis, Tár, Top Gun: Maverick and Women Talking.
SS Rajamouli is competing with James Cameron for the movie Avatar: The Way of Water, Damien Chazelle for Babylon, Todd Field for Tar, Baz Luhrmann for Elvis, Martin McDonagh for The Banshees of Inisherin, Daniel Kwan, Sarah Polley for Women Talking, Gina Prince for Bythewood – The Woman King, Daniel Scheinert for Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Steven Spielberg for The Fabelmans for Best Director trophy.
RRR which is bankrolled by DVV Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainment, also has Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alia Bhatt, Alison Doody and Ray Stevenson in the important roles.
