SS Rajamouli won the Critics Choice Award for his magnum opus RRR in the category, ‘Best Foreign Language Film’. The film RRR which has Young Tiger Jr NTR and Mega Power star Ram Charan in the lead roles, is bankrolled by DVV Danayya under the banner of DVV Entertainment, also won for its celebrated track ‘Naatu Naatu’ in the category of ‘Best Song’. Rajamouli gave a moving speech on this occasion and thanked all the women in his life. He ended the speech by thanking his motherland, India.
SS Rajamouli and his son SS Kartikeya received Critics Choice Award and thanked the CCA jury for the awards.
SS Rajamouli said: “To all women in my life, my mother, she thought school education was overrated and she encouraged me to read the comics and storybooks, and she encouraged my creativity. My sister-in-law always encourages me to be the best version of myself. My wife, Rama is the costume designer of my movies and she is the designer of my life. My daughters, though they don’t do anything but just their smile is enough to light my life up. “
Rajamouli’ magnum opus RRR was also nominated for Best Director, Best Picture and Best Visual Effects. The movie had earlier scored a victory at the Golden Globes as Naatu Naatu won for Best Song.
