Sai Pallavi faces story theft charges Assistant director Chandrakumar claims Diya is plagiarised storyFidaa and MCA aka Middle Class Abbayi fame Sai Pallavi made her Tamil debut with Diya (Kanam in  Telugu), which was released  on 27th April and received mixed response from everywhere. Now according to the latest update, AL Vijay’s directorial venture Diya has landed in trouble. The assistant director  Chandrakumar has alleged charges of plagiarism against the Lyca Production.  He said, “I worked as an assistant to the director Rajakumarn. In 2015, I wrote a story based  on the theme that abortion is sin and how an unborn victim avenges those who destroyed her after five years of life.  Director Rajakumarn  and a Sri Lankan Producer were agreed to make the movie  and I also received advance. But now I am shocked that the story of my movie was released as Diya.  The makers have made only few changes in the story line.

 Chandrakumar  clarified that he has no connection with AL Vijay, the director of Diya but claimed that  he penned the story of Diya.

 Naga Shaurya played the  lead role in Kanam/Diya.  The movie has others stars like RJ Balaji, Rekha, Santhana Bharathi and Nizhalgal Ravi in supporting roles. Diya’ was previously titled ‘Karu’ in Tamil but later the makers changed the title to Diya.
