Telugu Superstar Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi helmed by Vamsi Paidipally was blockbuster at the box office. The film also had Pooja Hegde as the leading lady and Allari Naresh in the crucial role. In the sixth edition of the Sakshi Excellence Awards that was held in Hyderabad last night, Mahesh Babu won the Best Actor award for his fantastic performance in his film, Maharshi.
Not only this, Maharshi also won the Best Director and Best Film awards. Vamshi Paidipally who helmed Maharshi and producer Dil Raju received their awards.
The social message oriented movie Maharshi was jointly bankrolled by Dil Raju, Ashwini Dutt, Prasad V Potluri, and Param V. Potluri through their production companies Sri Venkateswara Creations, the Vyjayanthi Movies, and PVP Cinema whereas it has the music by Devi Sri Prasad. The movie also had Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Meenakshi Dixit, and Ananya in the supporting roles.
After the release, Maharshi ranked among the highest grossing Telugu films. Mahesh Babu starrer received 2 National Film Awards, including the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and the Best Choreography. It also won two awards at Zee Cine Awards Telugu.
On the otherside, currently Mahesh Babu is working for upcoming film Sarkaru Vaari Paata which has Keerthy Suresh of Rang De in the female lead role.
