Samantha Akkineni is playing the journalist in U Turn remake who tries investigate and write a story for her publication. Currently the shoot is going on Police station sets and the makers are canning crucial scene on Samantha.
Samantha Akkineni is busy in the shoot of her upcoming movie, the remake of Kannada thriller U Turn, which are being made in Tamil and Telugu, in the direction of Pawan Kumar. In It’s original Kannada version of U Turn, Shraddha Srinath played the lead role. It is a paranormal thriller about the mystery behind the death of motorists who die after breaking traffic rules on a particular flyover in Bengaluru.
Samantha Akkineni is playing the role of Journalist working on article on the incidents at a flyover. Apart from Samantha, Aadhi Pinisetty, Malayalam actor Narain, Bhumika Chawala and Rahul Ravindran are also the part of U Turn remake. The shoot of U Turn remake is under way at brisk pace in and around Hyderabad.
According to the latest update, the makers are canning important scenes at a police station set built at a top studio in Hyderabad. The first look and title poster of U Turn remake will be out very soon, say sources. The film is being produced by Srinivas Chitturi under Srinivasaa Silver Screen banner and the cinematography is handled by Niketh Bommi.
In January 2017, Samantha Akkineni watched U Turn at a special screening in Bengaluru and immediately gave her nod. Earlier it was rumoured that Samantha was willing to bankroll the remake.
This year, Samantha Akkineni has delivered three hit movies- Sukumar’s village based drama ‘Ranagasthalam’ in which she shared the screen space with Ram Charan, Nag Ashwin’s directorial venture ‘Mahanati’- the biopic of south Indian legendary actress Savitri where Samantha played journalist and ‘Abhimanyudu’ costarring Vishal.
On the otherside, Samantha Akkineni is waiting for the release of Seema Raja, written and directed by Ponram and produced by R. D. Raja, in which Sivakarthikeyan is playing the lead role. Samantha will also be seen in Super Deluxe, helmed by Aaranya Kaandam-fame Thiagarajan Kumararaja, in which she is playing the love interest of Vijay Sethupathi.
