Samantha Akkineni satire on present-day politicsSamantha Akkineni, who has delivered a number of hit movies in her filmy career, is on signing spree. According to the latest update, Samantha Akkineni has been approached to play the female lead in an upcoming political fantasy movie Tughlaq Durbar, which will be directed by debutant director Dilli Prasad Deendayal. Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi is playing the lead role in this upcoming film. The source say that this upcoming film, in which Samantha will be seen playing female lead, is a satire of present-day politics.  The makers are also planning to make this movie in Telugu also.

Samantha Akkineni made her debut in 2010 with Ye Maaya Chesave and since has been the top choice of filmmakers in Telugu and Tamil cinema. The actress, besides being the most glamorous, is an able actor and has proved her skills with her performances in Ye Maaya Chesave, Manam, Theri, 24, Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu, Rangasthalam, Abhimanyudu, U Turn and Mahanati.

Recently during the 100 days celebration of 96, Vijay Sethupathi announced that Lalith’s 7 Screen Studio will be producing his new film Tughlaq Durbar which will be directed by debutant Dilli Prasad Deendayal.  The sources say that recently the makers contacted Samantha and discussed about the possibility of this project. If she gives her nod, once again she will be seen sharing the screen space with Vijay Sethupathi.

Already, Samantha and Vijay Sethupathi are working together in the film Super Deluxe which will release this summer. If Samantha Akkineni signs this film, this will mark their second collaboration. Meanwhile, she is busy shooting for Majili and the remake of Ms Granny in Telugu, in which Naga Shaurya is playing the lead role.

Once Vijay Sethupathi completes the shoot of his ongoing film Maamanithan, he will begin shooting for Tughlaq Durbar. Govind Vasantha of 96 fame will compose the music for the film and Balaji Tharaneetharan of  Seethakathi  fame will be penning the dialogues.
