Samantha Akkineni, the daughter-in-law of Akkineni Nagarjuna, is likely to announce her first film as a producer soon. The actress, who slowed down in her career after back to back hits, is likely to bankroll the film. Currently, Samantha is focusing on producing women-centric films and movies that promote women empowerment.

The sources close to Samantha Akkineni revealed that the actress has decided to bankroll the good content-oriented movies under her own banner. Samantha already listened to a bunch of scripts but did not finalize yet. Currently, Oh Baby actress is in the hunt for the right scripts.

Samantha has already acted with almost all the stars heroes of Telugu and Tamil cinema. With films like ‘Theri, ‘Brahmotsavam’ ,‘A..Aa’ ‘Majili’ ‘Rangasthalam’ Samantha is enjoying her career at the moment. Apparently, Samantha Akkineni doesn’t want to compromise on anything and she has decided to produce the film. An official confirmation is awaited.

On the work front, Samantha is currently busy in the shoot of the second season of web series ‘The Family Man’ in Mumbai. She is playing a pivotal and will be seen playing the role of a terrorist. With many actors eyeing this emerging medium, Samantha Akkineni, in an interview, had said she’s definitely “interested in doing web series as the format is different from the mainstream cinema.” Oh Baby actress added, “I have no qualms of taking up something unconventional and interesting. On digital platforms, the content is the king and there’s so much fun being a part of the original stuff”. Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, the first season of the series revolved around a middle-class man, working for the National Investigation Agency.

On the other side, Samantha Akkineni is waiting for the release of her upcoming film Janu, the remake of Tamil movie 96, where she is reprising the role essayed by Trisha. Directed by Prem Kumar, who had handled the original as well.
