Samantha Akkineni was last seen playing the female lead in romantic drama Jaanu, in which she shared the screen space with Sharwanand, which was just average at the box office. Recently she signed a woman centric movie Shaakuntalam, in which she will play the titular character under the direction of Gunasekhar of Rudhramadevi fame.
The regular shoot of Shaakuntalam will be started very soon. Now the reports are coming that Samantha allotted 150 working day and she is receiving Rs 3 Cr as remuneration for Gunasekhar’ directorial venture Shaakuntalam.
Malayalam actor Dev Mohan has been roped in Shaakuntalam as the lead hero. Few days ago, Samantha herself reveled that Dev Mohan is going to play Dushyant in Gunasekhar’ directorial venture, which is going to be bankrolled by Guna Team Works. Mani Sharma is on the board to compose the music.
On the otherside, Samantha is also playing the female lead in the Tamil film Kathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, which has Vijay Sethupathi and lady superstar Nayantara in the lead role, which is being helmed by Vignesh Shivan. Samantha is also waiting for the release of web drama The Family Man 2 and she is in the talk with Nandini Reddy for a Telugu project.
