It is known news that Samantha Akkineni is on the board to play the female lead in an upcoming untitled Telugu film, which is remake of Tamil hit movie 96. Samantha Akkineni has wrapped up the shoot of her part for 96 remake. This news is confirmed by the actress herself. Samantha took to her microblogging page and revealed that she has wrapped up the shoot of 96 remake in which she will be seen sharing the screen space with Sharwanand.
Samantha Akkineni is playing the role of Trisha in this remake. Directed by Prem Kumar, who directed the original version of 96 and produced by Dil Raju whereas it has the music by Govind Vasantha. Cinematography is handled by J Mahendran. Very soon the makers will make announcement regarding the release date of 96 remake.
Earlier director Prem Kumar has stated that the film title, which has not yet been decided, would be finalized after shooting is wrapped up.
96 was also remade in Kannada with Bhavana and Ganesh playing the lead roles. The Kannada remake was titled 99, and was directed by Preetam Gubbi.
Samantha was last seen in woman centric movie Oh Baby, directed by Nandini Reddy. It is remake of Korean movie Miss Granny.
