Recent Bollywood disaster Samrat Prithviraj, starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role, couldn’t become a competitive for its simultaneous releases like Vikram and Major movies. It’s really a great disappointment for the Bollywood industry, as it was never expected, being such a big star’s motion picture.
The film was made with a lavish budget of Rs 300 crores, but remained as the all-time disasters of Indian cinema. The production house Yash Raj Films has lost more than 150 crores and it has collected only 55 crores approximately in the first week. And now, the collections have been showing a gradual decline at the box office. The same has been progressing at the US box office as well.
So, the makers have decided to release the film on OTT, just after 4 weeks from its theatrical release. Amazon Prime Video has grabbed the streaming rights of the film. And the film is expected to arrive on the platform during the first week of July. Samrat Prithviraj was directed by Chandraparakash Dwivedi. Maanushi Chhillar is the leading lady of the film.
