On Tuesday, Tennis star player Sania Mirza and her American partner Rajeev Ram lost 4-6, 6-7 (5-7) to Australian pair Jason Kubler and Jaimee Fourlis in the mixed doubles quarter-finals of the Australian Open. The Australian wildcard entrants were assertive in the first set, but they had to work hard to achieve the second.
Both Sania and Ram were leading 4-2 in the second when Fourlis and Kubler tried to make it 5-5. Then, both of them exorted themselves to go ahead and win the set 7-6, inevitably winning the match 6-4, 7-6 and reached semi finals of the Grand Slam.
In the first round held earlier, Sania Mirza and Nadia Kichenok lost 4-6, 6-7(5) to Slivenian team of Tamara Zidansek and Kaja Juvan in women’s doubles. Sania Mirza said that her body is deteriorating and she has decided to look after her family, so she does not want to play after 2022, and she will be retired.
She stated many reasons for her retirement, and one of them is pandemic situation she mentioned in the list.
