With theaters opening taking more time than expected many filmmakers, especially small budget ones are opting to go for direct to digital release. In Tamil, we have seen the noted film Ponmagal Vandhaal starring Jyothika releasing directly on Amazon Prime. Now according to the latest update, Telugu film Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya which stars Satya Dev in the lead role is also gearing up for OTT release.
Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya is the remake of Malayalam movie Maheshinte Prathikaram. C/o Kancherapalem fame Venkatesh Maha has directed the movie and Arka Media works owned by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni are the producers for this remake. Censor work for the film is completed too.
It is said that Aha digital platform has bought the digital rights for the film for a fancy price. They are now planning to release the movie in June last week or July first week. More clarity regarding this will come in the coming days. It will be interesting to see how the audience laps up this movie.
