Shaakuntalam featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan is one of the most awaited films of the season. The periodic love tale of Shakuntala and Dushyant which is all set to be released on Valentines’ Day week. The makers have already released its trailer and three songs that have created a buzz in the market. Gunasekhar who is best known for helming Anushka Shetty starrer Rudhramadevi himself had worked on the film’s screenplay. Ahead of its theatrical release, the movie Shaakuntalam’ first review was out on social media.
According to the self-acclaimed film critic, who is a member of the Overseas Film Certification Board, Umair Sandhu, Shaakuntalam is a terrific movie that brings back Samantha in all her glory. Umair Sandhu took to his micro-blogging site Twitter, and wrote, “Shaakuntalam First Final Cut Copy is out & inside Reports are Terrific! Samantha Ruth Prabhu is Back with Bang.”
Shaakuntalam is finally set to hit the theatres on February 17. Gunasekhar’ magnum opus is based on the famous play Abhijnana Shaakuntalam by Kalidasa, whose epic love story can be seen in Mahabharata.
Apart from the lead actors, Shaakuntalam also has Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Allu Arha, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and others in the crucial roles.
