Talking about being a part of Shaakuntalam, earlier during an interview Samantha Akkineni had said it is a gift to her from Gunasekhar and producer Dil Raju as she has always wanted to play either a princess or a lead in a period drama.
Shaakuntalam is a pan-Indian film which is also produced by Gunasekhar’s daughter Neelima Guna.
