Shakeela, the adult star is going to play cameo in her upcoming biopic, in which Bollywood actress Richa Chadda is playing the lead role. The biopic is being helmed by Indrajit Lankesh and Richa Chadda is reprising the role of Shakeela Khan, who was popular in southern showbiz in the 1990s.
Biopics are getting bigger, and Richa Chadda joined the league of the slate when she bagged the role of Shakeela in the film based on the life of South Indian cinema’s legendary name. Before starting the shoot the actress met Shakeela in Bengaluru to understand her style of talking, her body language and such nuances. Now Indrajit Lankesh is going to bring Shakeela on the board to play cameo. As both the reel and real life Shakeela will be seen sharing the screen space that would surely be a treat for their fans.
Shakeela is known for her adult movies. She became a rage overnight after her first mainstream film ‘Playgirls,’ in which she acted alongside Silk Smitha. She has acted in several adult films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Shakeela rose to stardom after Silk Smitha, grabbing every director and producer’s attention in the Southfilm industries and also becoming the first female actor in Mollywood to gain such popularity when it was a largely male-dominated business.
The Shakeela biopic is being currently shot in Thirthahalli, a small village in Karnataka. The film is slated to hit the theaters in 2019.
Recently the director Indrajit Lankesh said, “I feel every woman and girl who wants to be an actress should see the story of Shakeela, to know what she went through to become an actress and how it was such a compelling rags to riches to rags the story of her life.”
According to the latest buzz, Richa Chadda will be seen doing belly dance for the special promotional song for this upcoming biopic Shakeela.
