Amala Akkineni, the wife of King Nagarjuna and Mother-In-Law of Samantha Akkineni is making her comeback in the Tamil film industry after a long gap of 30 years with an upcoming film that has the young actor Sharwanand and Ritu Varma in the lead role.
After Amala Akkineni made a comeback to the big screen with Sekhar Kammula’s directorial venture Life Is Beautiful in the year 2012, she has acted in Manam and a film each in Malayalam and Hindi. Now, she is all set to make her comeback in Kollywood after 3 decades.
Amala Akkineni will be seen essaying a crucial role in Sharwanand and Ritu Varma’s ongoing Tamil-Telugu bilingual film, which is being directed by Shree Karthick and bankrolled by SR Prabhu under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures.
In Kollywood, Amala Akkineni has last seen in 1991 Tamil-Malayalam bilingual drama, Karpoora Mullai (Ente Sooryaputhrikku in Malayalam). Sharwanand’s starrer film will mark her comeback to Tollywood as well after a gap of five years.
Amala Akkineni is playing the role of Sharwanand’s mother and is paired opposite Ravi Raghavendra, the father of Anirudh Ravichander. Besides the lead actors, the film also has Nasser, Ramesh Thilak, Sathish, Priyadarshi, and Vennela Kishore in a crucial role. The untitled film has the music by Taxiwaala fame Jakes Bejoy whereas Sujith Sarang and Srijith Sarang are handling the cinematography and editing respectively.
