Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor, who played the lead role in recently released action entertainer Saaho alongside Young Rebel star Prabhas, has urged the Maharashtra government to reconsider its plan to chop down thousands of trees in a forest near Mumbai. On Sunday, Shraddha Kapoor, joined the protest against the felling of over 2700 trees in Aarey forest to build a metro carshed. The actress terming the decision of the civic body’s Tree Authority “ridiculous”.

Shraddha Kapoor took to her Instagram and wrote, “Trying to do my bit. Went live on my insta sometime back to show you all how so many people have come together to stand up against this.
2700+ trees are slated to be chopped down for the Metro. Unacceptable. Shocking. As if we don’t have enough environmental issues already. As if Mumbai doesn’t have enough pollution already. And permission is granted to chop off the lungs of the city. This HAS TO STOP. #SAVEAAREY #TRYYOURBITFORTHEENVIRONMENT @aareyforest.”

Aarey forest in Mumbai will have to go under the axe as BMC cleared permissions to chop down 2700 trees. Number of celebrities are protesting against the felling of over 2700 trees in Aarey forest and now the name of Shraddha Kapoor has also been added in this list.

On the work-side, Shraddha Kapoor’ previous offering Saaho is doing fantastic collections at the box office. Directed by Sujeeth and bankrolled by UV Creations.
