Venkatesh Daggubati and Akkineni Naga Chaitanya are working together for an upcoming movie Venky Mama. Incidentally, they are uncle and nephew in real life and it would be interesting to see them share the screen space for the first time and that too as uncle and nephew. Now according to the latest buzz in the film industry, the makers have approached Shriya Saran to play the female lead and if everything will go accordingly, she will be seen playing the leading lady opposite Venkatesh in Venky Mama. The sources say that Shriya Saran has given nod and very soon the official announcement will be made regarding the inclusion of the actress in Venky Mama.
Sardaar Gabbar Singh and Jai Lava Kusa fame Bobby will helm Venky Mama and it will be bankrolled by Suresh Babu, Kona Venkat and People Media Factory.
Rakul Preet Singh is already on the board to play the love interest of Naga Chaitanya in this film. It may be noted here that Anu Sithara was the first choice to play the female lead but she had to back out due to date clashes.
Earlier it was heard that Venky Mama is a remake of a Punjabi film and Kona Venkat is trying with his team to adapt it for Telugu audience taste. There is no any official confirmation regarding it.
Naga Chaitanya was last seen in Savyasachi in which Nidhhi Agerwal played the female lead and Kollywood actor R Madhavan essayed the villain. The movie was bombed at the box office and currently the actor is sharing the screen space with Samantha Akkineni in Majili, which is being directed bu Shiva Nirvana of Ninnu Kori fame.
Shriya Saran was last seen in Telugu movie Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu review , directed by Indrasena and produced by Apparao Bellana, which was released in November and received negative response. Earlier Shirya Saran has worked in Akkineni’s movie Manam. Now she will be seen opposite Venkatesh in Venky Mama.
