Story: Vasu Dev (Nani) aspires to become a filmmaker. He makes a short film with Keerthy (Krithi Shetty)  Later he scores his first success but had to deal with some legal issues. Unintentionally, Vasu makes the movies with stories that were penned by Shyam Singha Roy in 1970’s. Who is Shyam Singha Roy?  What is the relation of Shyam Singha Roy and Vasu? What is the role of Sai Pallavi in this? To get these answers, one should watch the movie on Silver screen.

Plus Points:

  • Casting
  • Performance
  • BGM
  • Cinematography

Minus Points:

  • Unnecessary scenes in second half
  • Weak climax

Performance:  Nani has done a good job and pulled off his character with ease.   Nani’ body language and way of dialogue delivery are superb. He is in superb form, especially the ease and energy levels.  Krithi Shetty is fine in her role. Love track between Nani and Krithi Shetty  looks good.  Once again Sai Pallavi  in the role of Devadasi , steals the show with her performance.  Her  dance performance in the Pranavalaya song is superb. Madonna Sebastian does a fine job. Rest of the cast did justice to their roles.

Technical: The storyline of  Shyam Singha Roy is interesting. Dialogues are entertaining. Cinematography is alright and is pleasing to eyes. The songs are good.  Mickey J Meyer  sets the mood up for the film with his background music . Editing is fine.   Art department did a good job. Production values  are lavish.

Analysis:  Shyam Singha Roy touches social topics that were relevant in the 70’s.  The way the director Rahul Sankritya present  Nani’  rebellion against Devadasi system and his revolt against the social fabric are presented well.

Rating: 3/5
