Noted producer Doraswamy Raju passed away today  on Monday morning ie. 18th January.  His health had deteriorated with the age burden since a few days. He took his last breathe at Banjara Hills Care Hospital after suffering a major cardiac arrest. He is known for bankrolling few movies such as Sitaramayyagari Manavaralu, Annamayya, Simhadri, Presidentgari Pellam, Kiraidada, Vengamamba, Bhale Pellam.

V Doraswamy Raju was also a leading distributor in the Ceded region and distributed more than 750 movies.

He produced “Seetharamiah Gari Manavaralu” in 1991, which was based on the Telugu short novel “Navvina Kanneelle” by Manasa. This movie received 4 Nandi Awards and 3 South Filmfare Awards. The International Film Festival of India screened his movie in 1991. It was also remade in Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi as “Sandhwanam” in  the year 1991, “Velli Modagalu” in 1993 and ‘Udhaar Ki Zindagi” in 1994. In  the year 1997, V Doraswamy  Raju released another blockbuster “Annamaya”, a devotional biography based on the 15th century composer Annamacharya. In 2003, he  released Simhadri, minted INR 550 million at the box office.

V Doraswamy Raju’ well-wishers in the film fraternity are expressing their condolences on his demise.
