This is the first time Mega Prince Varun Tej has decided to play the negative role in upcoming action entertainer Valmiki, which is progressing at the brisk pace in the direction of Harish Shankar.
The makers have booked the slot for Valmiki Mania. According to the latest update, the teaser of Valmiki starring Varun Tej will be unveiled on 15th August on the occasion of Independence day.
Valmiki is an official remake of the acclaimed Tamil gangster comedy, Jigarthanda.
Varun Tej himself has confirmed that Valmiki teaser will be released on 15th August as he tweeted,” The madness begins in two days! Stay tuned for #ValmikiTeaser @harish2you @DoP_Bose @Atharvaamurali @hegdepooja.”
The shoot is in the last leg of the shoot. Tamil hero Atharvaa Murali is on the board to play the lead role. Pooja Hegde is playing the female lead whereas Mrunalini Ravi and Dimple Hatati will be seen in special cameos.
Valmiki is helmed by Raam and Gopi Achanta under the banner of 14 Reels Plus whereas it has the music by Mickey J Meyer. Karthik Subbaraj has penned the story of Valmiki and Chota K Prasad is handling the editing.
The movie is slated to hit the theaters on 13th September.
Valmiki’ original version in Tamil (Jigarthanda) had Bobby Simha, Siddhartha and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles.
