India opening batter Smriti Mandana won the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award for the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the year 2021. She played a major role in the two of the 8 matches in the limited-overs series against South Africa. As India chased down 158 in the second ODI, she made 80 not out.

Smriti played an important knock of 49 in India’s only win in the ODI series. However, in the first innings of the one-off Test against England, she played a sublime inning of 78. She systemized a brilliant century in her maiden Test match, and she had received the player of the match award.
Even though India fell short and lost the series 2-0, she attained her 2nd T20I fifty of the year in the final T20I. Being victorious in her maiden century in the longest format, she made India’s first-ever pink ball Test indelible.
During the day time, she scored a run-a-ball half century with her left hand, as she is a left hand player. Her innings finally came to an end at 127, making India strong. While the match terminated in a draw, she was declared the player of the match.
