Sobhita Dhulipala is well known face for Telugu people as she made her debut in Telugu Film Industry with an investigative movie Goodachari in which she shared the screen space with Adivi Sesh. Now she is all set to make her Tamil debut. According to the latest update, Sobhita Dhulipala has been roped in an upcoming multistarrer Ponniyin Selvan, which is being helmed by Mani Ratnam. Currently the shoot of Ponniyin Selvan is progressing at the brick pace in Hyderabad.

 The upcoming big budget film Ponniyin Selvan  is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’ fictional historical novel of the same name, and is all about the story of Arulmozhivarman, one of the kings of  Chola dynasty during  10th and 11th century. The film Ponniyin Selvan   also has Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Karthi, Jayam Ravi in the crucial role.

According to the last update, Kaalakaandi actress Sobhita Dhulipala will be seen in a key role in Mani Ratnam’ Ponniyin Selvan. Apparently, Sobhita Dhulipala, who’s a trained classical dancer, will be seen essaying the role of a princess, who’s well-versed in Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam.

Mani Ratnam’ Ponniyin Selvan is being jointly bankrolled by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. It will be made in two parts and the first part will hit the theaters in 2021.
