Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in the national capital for treatment of a viral respiratory infection on Wednesday.
Dr Ajay Swaroop, chairman of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said, “Sonia Gandhi was admitted to our hospital. Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the Department of Chest Medicine under the care of Dr Arup Basu and his team. She has been admitted for the treatment of a viral respiratory infection.”
Sonia’ daughter and and the grand old party’s general secretary Priyanka Vadra has accompanied mother during the admission process. Sonia is put observation for the viral respiratory infection.
The sources revealed that UPA President has been unwell since Tuesday which is why Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra returned to Delhi after walking 7 kilometres in the Bharat Jodo Yatra that entered UP on Tuesday evening.
