Sonia Gandhi: Vote for PrajakutamiSonia Gandhi, Former Congress president, promised the people of Telangana a government that will stand with every section of the society and will represent the people of the state. On 4th December, she said the ‘PrajaKutami‘ (people’s alliance), comprising Congress, Telugu Desam Party, Telangana Jana Samithi and CPI — was a grand alliance for all sections of the society. She appealed to the electorate in Telangana to vote for the grand alliance in the assembly election on 7th December, saying those in power in Hyderabad had betrayed them and it is time for people to realise their aspirations.

In a video message released by the Congress on Twitter, Sonia Gandhi said, “Your vote is not only for the future of Telangana, but is also for your future. The Prajakutami of Congress, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), the Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) is your voice, your alliance, an alliance for each and every section of the Telangana .”

 Congress party wrote on Twitter, “We made a promise to form the state of Telangana & we fulfilled that with the help of the people, that is the Congress way – to deliver on our assurances. Today we promise you a government that will stand with every section of society & will represent the people of Telangana”

 United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi added, “I appeal to you personally to vote for Prajakutami.”

Sonia Gandhi wrote on her twitter,” Four and a half years ago a separate state of Telangana was created. I too played a role in’ making that happen. But, you have been betrayed by those in power in Hyderabad.”

Without taking the name of caretaker chief minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), Sonia Gandhi alleged that the people of Telangana have been cheated by the ones in power.

Telangana Assembly elections are going to be held on 7th December whereas the counting of votes will take place on 11th December.
