The Mortal remains of legendary  playback Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, who is popularly known as SPB, were brought to his farmhouse in Tamil Nadu’s Thamaraipakkam village for performing last rites.

SP Balu passed away on 25th September 2020, due to a cardio-respiratory stroke, following a month-long battle at the ICU of MGM Healthcare in Chennai. SPB was 74 years old. SP Balasubrahmanyam’ son SP Charan informed the media about his dad’ demise at the hospital gate.

Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and other politicians offered condolences on the death of  playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that SP Balu was a household name across India. His melodious voice and music enthralled  the audiences for decades.

On 5th August 2020,  the musician SP Balasubrahmanyam confirmed testing positive for  Coronavirus through a video message posted on his official Facebook page.

The legendary  playback Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam  is popular for his work in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam films and  he has recorded over 40000 songs in various regional languages.  SPB  holds the Guinness World Record for having the biggest number of recorded songs.
His latest works from the ongoing year included  Disco Raja, Cheema Prema Madhyalo Bhaama, Darbar, Entha Manchivaadavuraa, Palasa 1978, Vikram Rathode, and Ayyappa Kaataksham.
