The Lakhimpur Kheri violence incident has shaken the country after the Home Minister of state Ajay Mishra’s son, Ashish Mishra’s car, rammed over the farmers that were protesting against the Centre’s farm laws. This incident happened ahead of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya’s visit. This has erupted into volcanic clashes between protesters and BJP party workers and created a tough situation for cops to handle.

In regards to this massacre, the Uttar Pradesh government has employed a one-member commission to probe the full details of the Lakhimpur Kheri violence incident. On speaking to this, close officials stated the reports as, “A notification for the constitution of the Commission has been issued. The commission has been given two months’ time to probe the matter”.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Commissions of Enquiry Act, 1952 (Act no. 60 of 1952), the Governor is pleased to appoint Justice High Court, Allahabad (retd) Pradeep Kumar Srivastava as a single-member Commission of enquiry with Headquarters at Lakhimpur Kheri. The Commission shall complete the enquiry within a period of two months from the date of the issue of this notification. Any change in its tenure shall be at the behest of the Government,” Reports further added.

During the  Lakhimpur Kheri violence incident, four people were killed after a car rammed into the group and another four were killed during clashes between BJP workers and protesting farmers.
