Mumbai Special NDPS court has extended the judicial custody of Bengali actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakroborty.  Both Rhea and Showik will remain in jail till 20th October. Rhea Chakraborty, the girl friend of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput has been currently in judicial custody in an NDPS case registered by NCB since 8th September.

The judicial custody of Rhea Chakraborty is extended every 14 days and their custody ended today. Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakroborty had approached the High Court for  the bail.

During the previous custody extension, the  Narcotics Control Bureau had gone to the jail to record actress’ brother Showik Chakraborty’ statement.

Rhea Chakrabroty was arrested by the NCB on 9th September, in connection to drugs related probe that emerged from Sushant Singh Rajput’ death case. Previously, the  Narcotics Control Bureau had arrested Showik,  Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant.

On the other side, Priyanka and Meetu Singh – the sisters of Sushant Singh Rajput, have filed a plea in the Bombay High Court seeking to quash FIR lodged against them by the Mumbai Police on a complaint filed by Rhea Chakraborty. The court said- The FIR had been filed only a month ago. There is no urgency.
