The film industry is perhaps the harshest one where one bad Friday will throw you out of the box which might take years for some to bounce back. Srikanth Addala knows this harsh reality better than anyone. The director who was once hailed as a sensible director and known to dish out movies with nice family emotions delivered a bad movie with Brahmotsavam. The film which has Mahesh Babu in the lead role is one of the biggest disasters of all time. Not only the box office result, but the film is also severely criticized for its content. Since then there is no film for Srikanth Addala. Though the director is trying hard to grab a movie chance not many gave him a chance even to meet. Here only success matters.
However, Srikanth Addala has suddenly got the opportunity to remake Kollywood’s latest sensation Asuran. Venkatesh after watching the film immensely liked it and made Suresh Babu bought the remake rights. When the project is announced many have raised doubts as to how Venkatesh who has a soft image will fit into Sivasaamy’s role who is raw and rustic. By selecting Srikanth Addala as director, Suresh Babu surprised even more like the director to have a soft image and he only showcased goodness in his films till now. Many trolls came on social media when Srikanth Addala is announced as director. But the production team is going with their gut feeling.
The latest news is that Srikanth Addala has already started pre-production works for the movie. A casting call has been announced. Seven newcomers will be given a chance to play important roles in this movie. All the roles are for male artists only. Vetrimaaran is the original director and Suresh Babu is producing the remake in association with original producers. The shooting of the film will start once pre-production works conclude.
