Sonu Sood, the stylish Telugu villain, who grabbed several eyeballs with her terrific avatar in Anushka Shetty starrer woman centric movie Arundhati, was recently honoured with the Doctorate Degree of Taekwondo.
The 45 years old actor Sonu Sood, who is known for leading a healthy lifestyle over the years, was honoured in the presence of Prabhat Sharma, secretary general of Taekwondo Federation of India, at the opening ceremony of 107 International Kyorugi Referee Seminar/121st International Kyorugi Referee Refresher Course and the 40th International Poomsae Referee Seminar, for his outstanding contribution and support towards the taekwondo.
On this occasion Sonu Sood said, “I remember the first time when my mother bought a Taekwondo outfit for me and she took me to Taekwondo classes. Today, I wish my mother was here to see that I have been honoured in the same action field of Tekwaondo.”
He further said, “It’s good that the people across all age groups are interested in taekwondo sport and they want to create awareness regarding the same.”
Sonu Sood made his Telugu debut in 2000 with Hands Up!, in which he played the role of Tuglak. He has been the part of several Telugu movies like Ammayilu Abbayilu, Super, Athudu, Mr Medhavi, Anjaneyulu, Dookudu, Julai, and Aagadu. Meanwhile he is busy in his upcoming Kannada movie Muniratna Kurukshetra, directed by Naganna. It is based on the poem Gadhayuddha by Ranna, which itself is based on the Indian epic Mahabharata. In this movie, Sonu Sood is playing the role of Arjuna, which is being produced by Muniratna Naidu.
Apart from Kannada movie, Sonu Sood will also be seen in Simmba, the remake of Telugu blockbuster movie Temper in which Young Tiger Jr NTR played the lead role. In Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan are playing the lead roles.
