Sufiyum Sujathayum is the first Malayalam film which is going to release directly on an OTT platform. The movie starring Aditi Rao Hydari and Jayasurya is releasing through Amazon Prime on 3rd July. Sufiyum Sujathayum is directed by Naranipuzha Shanavas and cinematography is handled  by Anu Moothedath. The makers have started the promotional activities by releasing a trailer of Sufiyum Sujathayum.

Today the makers of Sufiyum Sujathayum unveiled the trailer, which is grabbing the attention of movie lovers. Aditi Rao Hydari is playing the role of a mute woman, Sujata, who is in love with her neighbour, a Sufi priest (Dev Mohan), despite the difference in their communities and preaching, but is married off to a NRI (Jayasurya).

The over 2-minute video of Sufiyum Sujathayum also throws light on the controversial love jihad fears. She has a fascination for Sufis, the Islamic ascetics or mystics who express their devotion through dance and songs.  The upcoming movie Sufiyum Sujathayam, touted to be a romantic musical drama, highlights a sensitive issue of ‘Love Jihad’.

The film Sufiyum Sujathayum is bankrolled by Vijay Babu. The romantic movie marks the return of Aditi Rao Hydari to Malayalam cinema after a long gap of 13 years. Her last Malayalam film was Prajapathi  which was released in 2006.
