Vaishnav Tej, the younger brother of Mega Hero Sai Dharam Tej is making his debut in Telugu film industry with an upcoming romantic film Uppena. The film Uppena was supposed to be released in the month of April but has been postponed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. Now, according to the latest update, a leading OTT giant offered a whopping Rs 14 crore to acquire the film Uppena’s world premiere rights. But Sukumar Writings and Mythri Movie Makers, who spent nearly Rs 18 crores for the movie, rejected the offer. It looks like makers of Uppena decided to wait until the lockdown gets lifted and go for theatrical release.
With OTT platforms giving an offer like how they give for any other small movie, Uppena creators have decided to not sell the romantic movie.
Sukumar’ associate Buchi Babu Sana is directing Vaishnav Tej starrer Uppena which has Kriti Shetty in the female lead whereas Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music. Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi is playing the crucial role and will be seen in the role of Kriti Shetty’ father.
Vaishnav Tej starrer Uppena will be one of those first movies that is ready to hit theatres once the lockdown gets lifted and cinema halls re-opened.
