A few days back, Victory Venkatesh has shocked everyone when he is impressed with the Asuran movie and wants to remake it in Telugu. Asuran stars Dhanush in the lead role and this raw and intense film won critical acclaim, won audience hearts and minted 100 crores of rupees at the box office. With the stupendous success of the film, other language filmmakers concentrated on Asuran remake. It is Suresh Babu who reacted immediately and bought the remake rights. After buying the rights, he released to media that Asuran is being remade into Telugu and works on this film will start very soon.
Now, the question is, will Venkatesh who has a different set of images, completely opposite to Dhanush and far away from the character Dhanush played in the film Asuran. Then, how can Venkatesh match his image to Asuran character needs to be seen. Another interesting point here is, who will helm the project of Asuran. As said earlier, it is raw, rustic and intense flick. Asuran director Vetrimaaran is known for these. His previous flicks Aadukulam, Visaranai, Vada Chennai speaks volumes of his caliber and taking. Vetrimaaran’s films are known for their rich technical quality. It is very difficult to maintain his quality of making. Remaking his films involve huge risk as it is not an easy job to reprise his taking.
Apparently, Suresh Babu has this in mind and is carefully observing all the directors who he thinks can handle this project correctly. First, he approached Tarun Bhascker to remake this movie but the director politely refused the offer stating that he wants to direct a straight film with Venkatesh. Top directors in the industry are currently very busy with their prior commitments. Suresh Babu is in doubt to give this project to the non-experienced candidate. Now it has to be seen as who will helm this prestigious project.
