Kollywood star Suriya is popular for his charity work. It is known news that Suriya along with his father Shiva Kumar and younger brother Karthi run an NGO and used to help the needy whenever required. Now according to the latest update, Suriya, has announced a donation of Rs 25 crore for the farmers who hail from the Cauvery river basin.

During the release of Kaappaan/ Bandobast, Suriya had announced a charity of Rs 25 Cr for the farmers. In addition to it, he had donated an amount of Rs 10 lakhs to the directors union on the eve of the Diwali festival. Suriya’s help for a Nobel cause is winning the hearts of his fans.

Directed by K V Anand, co-written by Pattukkottai Prabakar, and produced by Lyca Production, Suriya played the titular role whereas Malayalam Superstar Mohanlal, Arya and Sayyeshaa played the important roles.

Kaappaan is all about the story of Kathiravan (Suriya) who is SPG commando and has the responsibility of security of Prime minister Chandrakant Verma (Mohanlal). When Chandrakant is assassinated in a Car bomb blast in Jammu. Kathir set to find out the true mastermind behind his assassination.

On its opening day, the movie received a mixed response and it’s Telugu version Bandobast turned out dud at the box office. Now according to the latest buzz, Suriya is planning to make a direct Telugu film.
