Jai Bhim is a Tamil-language period legal drama, directed by T.J.Gnanavel and produced by Jyothika and Suriya under 2D Entertainment banner. It stars Lijomol Jos and Manikandan in the lead roles, along with Suriya. The film’s plot is all about the police bias and state violence against a marginalised community.
So far, the film has received many prestigious awards like Critics Choice Film Awards, Noida International Film Festival Award for its royalty. Now, it has acquired top position on the list of 12th Beijing International Film Festival. The group is going to present the prestigious Titan Award to the team of Jai Bhim.
It was revealed on the micro blogging site Twitter, which reads, “Actor Suriya’s Jai Bhim has received excellent response from Beijing International Film Festival screening.” Jai Bhim is nominated as the Best Film on the list of BIFF Awards and the director T.J.Gnanavel will be honoured with the ceremonious award.
Still, the film is progressing its rampage across the globe and attaining prosperity endlessly. The film showcases a brave activist-lawyer fights for justice when a poor tribal man, who gets falsely accused of robbery, goes missing from the police custody. It revolves around the lives of Sengeni and Rajakannu, a couple from the Irular tribe. Rajakannu was arrested by the police, and was later missing from the police station. Sengeni seeks the help of an advocate Chandru to seek justice for her husband. The film was released in Telugu language as well.
