Cinematographer Raman Ratnavelu has worked with several top stars of South Indian film Industry. His latest project is Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy in which  Megastar Chiranjeevi is playing the lead role and it is all about the story of an unsung hero who revolted against the British in 1846. Sye Raa is helmed by Surender Reddy.

Recently during the media interaction, Ratnavelu opened up about Sye Raa and said, “Sye Raa is the 18th-century film and it is very difficult to recreate a reality of the past.   The soldiers and horses on canvas is different from creating beautiful indoor sets.  Chiranjeevi starrer Sye Raa is set against a Rayalaseema backdrop where the ambiance should reflect blood, sweat, and rawness and there should also be realism in the grandeur.”

According to Ratnavelu,  he faced many difficulties to shoot Sye Raa rather Shankar’ directorial venture Robo.  He said, “Kollywood superstar  Rajinikanth starrer Robo was dominated by VFX. So I didn’t struggle a lot.  But I faced difficulties during the shoot of Sye Raa. I worked with thousands of junior artistes in huge locations to shoot the scenes. “

Ratnavelu added, “I shot with all types of cameras for Sye Raa. The climax, the interval portion, and the fort attack are  the major highlight of the film.”

Sye Raa is gearing up for grand release on 2nd October 2019.
