Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janatha Party President Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has been made the Governor of Telangana, whereas former Uttarakhand BJP chief Bhagat Singh Koshyari was appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra. Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan will replace the former Governor K Narasimhan in Telangana.
The Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Kalraj Mishra was transferred and appointed as Governor of Rajasthan. According to the latest update, the Centre has appointed Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Tamilisai Soundrarajan as the Telangana Governor. She stated that her term as the state Chief ends in the month of December, allowing her to take up the role of Governor.
Her appointment comes along with the change of Governors in the 3 other states – Maharashtra, Kerala, and Himachal Pradesh.
The 4-time Bharatiya Janatha Party MP from Secunderabad constituency and former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya has been appointed as the Governor of HP.
Tamilisai Soundararajan was appointed as the chief of Tamil Nadu BJP in August 2014. She is the daughter of Congress leader Kumari Ananthan and the niece of Congress MP H Vasanthakumar.
Though Tamilisai Soundararajan does not have an RSS background, she had been one of the BJP’s stars campaigners during the 2014 Lok Sabha polls. Tamilisai was the state BJP’s first woman president.
