Telugu Desam Party has uplifted its search for suitable candidates, who could be fielded on behalf of the party in each of the constituencies in the state, for the upcoming general assembly elections which are going to be held in 2024. The party leadership wants to choose candidates who can give a tough fight and win over the ruling YSR Congress candidates.
A senior leader said, “We are following a new methodology for selecting candidates. It will be according to 5 various types of surveys by 5 separate agencies. Based on all these surveys, candidates will be rated on a scale of 100. The candidate of a particular constituency will be opted from among those who score more than 70%.” The party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu is considering pros and cons in selecting winning candidates for all assembly constituencies in Chittoor district, along with Kuppam.
Naidu further assured that Challa Ramchandra Reddy aliaz Challa Babu will contest from Punganur assembly segment, which is considered the citadel of minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. The brother of former chief minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy, Kishore Kumar Reddy is all set to contest from Piler.
Pulivarthi Nani will contest from Chittoor. He unsuccessfully contested against the ruling party’s candidate Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy in Chandragiri in the previous elections. Other candidates like the former minister N.Amaranatha Reddy, former MLA G.Shankar Yadav, Gali Bhanupraksh and Bojjala Sudheer Reddy from Srikalahasti assembly segment.
