TDP MP CM Ramesh hunger strike enters 4th dayTDP MP CM Ramesh’s indefinite hunger strike at Kadapa district’s Zila Parishad office entered its 4th day on Saturday.

TDP (Telugu Desam Party leader ) leader CM Ramesh launched an indefinite hunger strike on the premises of Zilla Parishad office against the central government’s delay in establishing a steel plant in Kadapa district on Wednesday demanding that the Centre establish a steel plant in the district.

Andhra was bifurcated in accordance with the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, , also known as the Telangana Act. According to provisions in the act, the Steel Authority of India (SAIL) had to form a committee and within six months of formation of the committee, to check the feasibility of setting up a steel plant in Kadapa district.

 CM Ramesh gave a call to all political parties and all the organisations in AP for their support of his hunger strike. Telugu Desam Party leader Ashok Gajapathi Raju,  Seetha Mahalakshmi, N. Siva Prasad, Kesineni Srinivas, Avanti Srinivas, Maganti Venkateswara Rao, Garikapati Mohan Rao, Ravindra Babu,  N. Kristappa, Galla Jaydev, Murali Mohan, Konakalla Narayana and Ravindra Kumar visited CM Ramesh to show solidarity to him.

 TDP MP CM Ramesh said, said that he was all set for any sacrifice in the interest of Kadapa people and the future generations.  He claimed, “Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders are playing with the emotions of Telugu people through their contradictory statements.”

 On the other side, Andhra Pradesh (AP) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Somu Veerraju accused CM Ramesh of spreading false rumors against the BJP and said that BJP was still trying to establish a steel factory in Kadapa.  He said, “It is only Chandrababu who wants more importance to the MP, and  facing all kinds of allegations of corruption.” He also said, “There is no need for anyone to sweat over Kadapa Steel Plant.”
