TFCC- Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has decided to hold a special meeting today at the Film Chamber in Hyderabad. The producers, distributors, exhibitors, studio managers are going to attend this meeting.
Various issues like OTT releases, ticket price issues, VPF Charges, working condition and rates, fighters federation issues, and production cost will be discussed in this meeting.
The film distributor KVV Prasad said that they came to know that the film producers are contemplating to stall the shoot of the movies from 1st August to devise ways to restructure the film industry to ensure its survival. He said, “ Tollywood is reeling under crisis since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic. Even after the decline in the COVID cases, a majority of the public are preferring to watch the movies on OTT platforms. Many films are getting lackluster response in theatres. Except for a few big-budget movies RRR, Pushpa: the Rise and RRR the footfall at the movie theatres is low, that affects the revenue of the theatre owners and producers.
KVV Prasad added, “During the meeting the discussions will be held on the problems being faced by the distributors and the theatre managements and a resolution will be drafted.”
