Tollywood has been struggling to get back on its feet, with many producers reeling from heavy losses. With the exception of films like Rajamouli’ magnum opus RRR and Sukumar’ directorial venture Pushpa: The Rise, a number of the Telugu theatrical releases have had a lukewarm response. According to the film makers, this is mainly due to the emergence of OTT platforms. The daily wage workers have been protesting for a hike in wages for the past few months.
